CTRL-click in Timeline Ruler area to see a list of Markers
Play Around Current Frame  -or-  \  plays pre-roll to post-roll around frame
Hold Command when dragging for more precision
 
3 Trimming tools that change 2 Edit Points but NOT the sequence's duration
 
Slip            
            One clip            keyboard, S            Right, earlier,  Left, later
            Clip stays in the same place in the timeline, but content inside is different
            Brown outline shows Handles
            Two-up shows new I/O of slipped clip
            Timeline shows amount clip I/O has changed
            Slip by numbers – highlight clip first then type change.  + is right, earlier   - is left, later
            Slip in Viewer by dragging end in scrubber.  Shift selection will Slip in Viewer too
            Brackets [ ] or < > will slip frame by frame
 
Rolling  
            Two clips            keyboard, R            Maintains sync and is good for editing to music
            Changes O of one clip and adjacent I of the other clip
            Brown outline shows both clips – duration does NOT change
            Two-up shows  -  left – outgoing clip's new O and Out mark
                                      right – incoming clips's new I and In mark
           Roll one track of linked clip – hold option to turn off linking

                       This works with Ripple and Selection Tool too
            Option click edit point, then E to Extend Roll
            Double click edit point for Trim Edit Window for Ripple or Roll

 
Sliding           
            Three clips            keyboard, SS                        changes 2 edit points
            Middle clip's content is unchanged.  First clip has new O.  Last clip has new I
            Brown outline shows all three clips
            Two-up shows - left – new O of first clip and Out mark
                                     right – new I of third clip and In mark
 
Reposition clips with Selection Tool
       Drag clip through V1 to desired position   
                    THEN   click option for Hooked Downward Arrow
                    Release Mouse button THEN release Option
    
         Drag a copy – Highlight clip, Release Mouse button,
                    Press and hold Option key.  A small + appears next to Move Tool (wiggle the mouse to see it)
                    Drag clip copy
                             Overwrite – release Option first
                             Insert – release mouse first
 
Red Out-of-Sync Indicators
            CTRL-click either audio or video and select Slip Into Sync. Click the track you want to move
            If clip has moved, Move Into Sync will be an option
            Modify > Mark in Sync  to turn red indicators off of clips purposefully out of sync
